Marine Engine Replacement
A tour boat operator wanted to replace the engines on his catamaran that were nearly 50 years old. There were no accurate drawings of the vessel and a temporary access would have to be cut in the deck above the engine room to allow the engines to be removed.
Millson Design Solutions, in only a few hours, 3D scanned both the Port and Starboard engine rooms engine seat, and under deck structure. From this, Millson Design Solutions was able to create detailed drawings of how the engine seats would need to be modified to accept the new engines, and where and how the deck patch should be cut, and then replaced once the work was complete.
In addition Millson Design Solutions assisted the client in working with Transport Canada to ensure all necessary approvals were obtained and will verify once the work is complete, if any updates are required to the vessel's stability book as a result of the work.
